Welcome to MatchMyMajor.ai. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before using the service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use MatchMyMajor.ai.

1. Description of Service

MatchMyMajor.ai is an AI-powered college matching platform that helps students find colleges suited to their academic profile, intended major, location preferences, and financial situation. We aggregate publicly available data (primarily from IPEDS, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System) and use artificial intelligence to generate personalized match scores and recommendations.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MatchMyMajor.ai. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian’s permission to use the service. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating your profile
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or our systems
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the platform
• Use automated bots, crawlers, or scripts to interact with the platform without our prior written consent
• Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service

5. Subscription Plans

Free Tier

Free accounts may generate up to 5 AI match scores per calendar month. Free users have access to basic college search, profile creation, and limited AI Advisor queries.

Premium Subscription

Premium subscribers receive unlimited AI match scores, unlimited AI Advisor access, advanced filtering, and priority support. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice before price changes take effect for existing subscribers.

6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

College data on MatchMyMajor.ai is sourced primarily from IPEDS and is provided for informational purposes only. We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Match scores are AI-generated estimates and do not constitute guarantees of admission or academic success. Always verify information directly with colleges before making enrollment decisions.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality on MatchMyMajor.ai — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, AI algorithms, and software — are owned by MatchMyMajor.ai and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MATCHMYMAJOR.AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of MatchMyMajor.ai shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify.

11. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
